LPC exists to KNOW God, to GROW in the likeness of Jesus, to SHOW God's glory, and to GO make disciples.

Leawood Presbyterian Church

We are a community of Christ-followers striving to be more about BEING the church rather than just GOING to church. Drawing off the concepts of the Hebrew word shema, we are learning how to live lives that aren't dichotomized into church, work and play but instead focusing on lives that are fully integrated for the glory of God.

We're seeking to discover God in new ways and to listen for His voice as we go about day-to-day life instead of just putting Him in a box only to be taken out on Sunday. We long to be a community that lives out a picture of Godly love in day-to-day life and impacts our community with sound biblical teaching and cultural relevance.

What does "cultural relevance" mean?  It doesn't mean abandoning the principles of truth or Christ. It DOES mean presenting these truths in a way that has the greatest opportunity to reach a new and changing generation.

As Jesus used relevant parables to relate to farmers, pharisees and townsfolk of his day, we desire to package the Truth in ways that the current generation can grasp and live out.

We're firm believers in the concept that we need to BE the church instead of just GOING to church, so we hope that as members of the LPC community, we are all reaching out as reflections of God's love at all times.

A strong focus for our community is what we refer to as community Pod Groups. These “pods” gather weekly to focus on particular topics or aspects of life as community. Current groups include focus on prayer and on the Bible. In the near future, pods will be starting focusing on worship and other relevant topics. For more information contact the church office at info@leawoodpres.org.

We look forward to our weekend gatherings where the Vibe is refreshingly casual. The experience is creatively engaging.  The Music & Worship is excellent with both a local and transcendent feel. The Teaching is all at once helpful, conversational, reflective, authentic, and atavistic.  The Focus is always around what God has done, is doing, and what’s next.  Our kids are safe and protected, actively and creatively engaged, and challenged to take what they experience here and live it out everywhere else. We are excited about creating excellent, inspiring, thoughtful moments - but what is more important to us is what happens when we move. When we leave our space. We long for movements to emerge as a result of our moments together. This is how the world will finally know us by our love - through Moments that lead to Movement.

If you still have questions (and we hope you do!) contact us at  info@leawoodpres.org and we'd love to share more!
