Favorite Christmas Songs

Christmas evokes so many feelings and memories, and the music is one of my favorites.  I really love all Christmas music.  I have my car radio tuned into the Christmas station.  I never get tired of it, though many do.  I will say, it's just not right to bring it out before Thanksgiving.

What is your favorite Christmas music?  I know what you're thinking.  It's Jimmy Fallon's Christmas Carols with classroom instruments.  It helps to have the Roots, right?

Mine is the timeless classic, O Holy Night, which I look forward to singing at our candlelight services this Christmas Eve.

O Holy Night

O holy night!
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!

Fall on your knees
Oh hear the angel voices
Oh night divine
Oh night when Christ was born
Oh night divine
Oh night divine

Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming
Here come the wise men from Orient land
The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger
In all our trials born to be our friend

Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name

I also love me some, Santa Clause Is Coming To Town.  I don't care if it's pint-sized Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 or Bruce Springsteen rockin' the jean jacket and having fun with the E Street Band.  It never gets old.

You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list
And checking it twice
Gonna find out Who's naughty and nice
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!

O! You better watch out!
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
