Are Distractions preventing transformation?

Teenager gives birth to a teenage boy.  This is crazy!

I don't know what distractions are in your life, but chances are the very thing preventing you from getting where you are to where God wants you to be is self control.

Distractions are just those things that tempt us to take God's gifts (Which is everything since God made everything and made it good) and abuse them, not use them for encouraging others and revealing the love of God to others.

Solomon said in Proverbs 25:28, "Like a city whose walls are broken through, is a person who lacks self-control."

They way we build a wall of protection starts in our mind.  We've been given divine power, not just will power to take captive every thought, as the apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10, and make our thoughts obedient to Jesus.

We are called to "demolish strongholds."  Strongholds are habits or attitudes (Shame, fear, doubt, insecurity) that seem to rule our lives, and we've been given power from God to not just mess around with them, but to demolish them!

God enables what He calls us to do, and we are called to have self-control.

Our goal is to keep our eyes on the prize, which is perfect love of God and others, providing us the peace we're all searching for.

When we take our eyes off of Christ, and onto the distraction, we miss the goal.

May you think great thoughts about God, self, others, life, your past, your future and challenges.

On the journey together,
