A long-time fan of Leawood Pres and Senior Pastor Ryan Kapple, Scott joined staff in June 2016 as LPC’s new connection pastor. Scott lives in a house close to LPC with his wife Kathy and four children: Jake - 20, Eli -18, Isaac -15 and Sadie - 12. He studied journalism at Midland University (Nebraska) and pursued a Masters of Divinity at Denver Seminary (Colorado). He is the son of a pastor, once vowing to never enter vocational ministry. In 25 years plus of vocational ministry, Scott has served on ministry staffs in Prairie Village, Greenwood Village, CO and Overland Park before coming to Leawood Pres. Seeing others experience the Father’s love for them and understand God’s unique call/mission for their lives, gets him really excited.
He is a frequent visitor to Costco, drinks a lot of coffee and coached but now spectates at his son’s games, where he is learning to speak more quietly at referees. He wishes he could frequent mountains of Colorado a lot more, aspires to run more marathons and still pinches himself over the Royals winning another World Series — Chiefs in 2017? Most of all he continues to be blown away by God’s grace and mercy that never ceases to amaze.
